Wayland, Mass. — Officials of aesthetic device makers Syneron Medical Ltd., of Israel, and Candela Corp., based here, have announced the successful closing of their merger, PR-inside.com reports.
The official merger closing follows the special meeting held Jan. 5, during which Candela shareholders voted in favor of the proposed merger agreement. As previously announced in September 2009, the proposed merger won unanimous approval by the companies’ boards of directors.
Under terms of the agreement, Syneron will maintain its corporate headquarters in Israel and its North American office in Irvine, Calif. Candela will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Syneron and will maintain its main office in Wayland and subsidiary operations in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.
