London — Beautysure, a specialty insurance company that covered patients undergoing cosmetic surgery, has ceased operations, news source Privatehealth.co.uk reports.
Parent company Lorega has taken the sales and administration of the business in-house. While the product’s faltering is “disappointing,” Lorega is restructuring and hopes to boost sales with a new team and new business strategy, according to a company statement.
Beautysure was launched in March 2009 to cover the cost of corrective procedures in the event of cosmetic surgery complications. Beautysure policies are underwritten by Lloyd’s of London and are available through surgeons who are members of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons or the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
