Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a popular treatment used by many dermatologists to stimulate tissue remodeling for skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. “To address photodamage and textural laxity I first do a heavy microdermabrasion followed by microneedling PRP,” Dr. Roberts continued. “This marries well with Botox (Allergan, an AbbVie Company) to address the pre-sternal fine rhytides. I recommend two sessions minimum and every six months to both maintain and rejuvenate this area.” She added that she uses PRP in combination with energy-based devices, fillers and toxins, as many of these combination procedures can be performed on the same day.
