Patients are demanding more from their aesthetic providers and the treatments they offer. This rapidly produced a pronounced effect at the surface, limiting depth of coagulation and reducing treatment time to under 20 minutes. Damage, but not destruction, of vascular tissue in the treatment area was noted, while preserving the surrounding skin.2

MIRACU PDO Threads by BENEV
Polydioxanone (PDO) absorbable threads have taken hold in aesthetic medicine because they provide a minimally invasive alternative to tissue lifting while stimulating a regenerative reaction in the body, promoting neocollagenesis and acting as a biodegradable scaffold at the same time. “PDO threads have been around for a while but not as widely adopted as other technologies for a variety of reasons,” according to Scott Callahan, PA-C owner and director of Dolce Vida Medical Spa with locations in Trumbull, Greenwich and Westport, Conn.
“There were too many hassles associated with them,” Mr. Callahan emphasized. “Threads were not pre-loaded in their cannulas and I had to purchase from re-packagers rather than the manufacturers, with not enough of a variety of threads for me to address patient concerns. In addition, threads were cut rather than molded, and thinner threads did not provide the level of correction that I was comfortable with, often breaking in the packaging, rendering them useless.
