Laguna Beach, Calif. — The American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons (ASBPS) has partnered with RealSelf.com, an online community that shares, discusses and rates cosmetic services and procedures.
The ASBPS, based here, provides educational resources on body-contouring surgery with the goal of helping patients who have lost significant weight to find a plastic surgeon with experience in that area. An ASBPS statement says the partnership with RealSelf.com “expands on the existing resources available to RealSelf.com visitors” seeking expert advice on postsurgical bariatric care and excess-skin issues.
The statement says RealSelf.com features first-hand accounts from past patients regarding cosmetic services and skincare treatments. In addition, board-certified doctors have posted more than 100,000 answers to consumer questions on RealSelf.com.
