Acknowledge your aesthetician

The Atlanta-based skin care brand COSMEDIX has declared October 15 as National Aesthetician Day, for the first time.

“We are excited to be the founding sponsor of National Aesthetician Day and hope that this will become an annual celebrated event within our industry,” says Robert Cohen, CEO of COSMEDIX and executive chairman of parent company Astral Health & Beauty, also located in Atlanta.

COSMEDIX selected October 15 as the inaugural date because it coincides with the kick off date of the Face & Body Show in Atlanta and “comes early in the fall season that is so crucial for the skincare community,” Cohen tells Cosmetic Surgery Times.

This is the first year the company has also dubbed the month of October as National Aesthetician Month.

The goal of the day and monthly commemoration is to bring heightened awareness of an aesthetician's value to the community and to further educate consumers, media and industry professionals on the important role that the aesthetician plays.

“While internally, we celebrate contributions of an aesthetician to the skincare industry every single day, we are eager to educate others on the vital role aestheticians play during a person’s healthy skincare journey,” Cohen says. “By designating a day and a month to celebrate these professionals, it gives the industry a moment to pause and thank those who work tirelessly every day to help others achieve their healthiest, best skin.”
