Frankfurt, Germany — More than 95 percent of European women said they would like to improve or alter a facial feature, and 78 percent said they believe aesthetic procedures are an acceptable way to enhance beauty as one ages, according to a recent survey by Merz Aesthetics.
The survey of nearly 3,000 European women also found that 70 percent of respondents said they feel most beautiful when they are happy; 89 percent said that when they are happy, they feel more beautiful; and 89 percent said that when they feel beautiful, they are more confident.
The third chapter of the “Face Value” beauty survey, commissioned by Merz and conducted online in October 2010 by Harris Interactive, included 543 women from France, 524 from the United Kingdom, 667 from Italy, 701 from Spain and 504 from Russia. According to a Merz statement, all the women had experience with or interest in using facial injectable treatments of dermal fillers and other injectables.
Respondents were asked a variety of questions related to what they believe makes a woman beautiful, their own personal beauty and the role of aesthetic procedures in maintaining their appearance.
Merz announced the survey chapter release in May at the 22nd World Congress of Dermatology, in Seoul, South Korea.
