Chicago — A new magazine dedicated to cosmetic surgery was set to launch in late January, AmericanHealthandBeauty.com reports.
New You is billed as the official magazine of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), based here. AmericanHealthandBeauty.com quotes Editor J.P. Faber as saying the magazine’s mission is to promote cosmetic surgery “so that people who are thinking about it today will take action tomorrow.”
An AACS statement notes that potential patients often have reservations about cosmetic surgery that may prevent them from undergoing a procedure. The academy cites research from Synovate indicating that the four main factors that hold people back from having a cosmetic procedure done are high price, fear of an unnatural result, pain, and fear of a poor outcome.
New You welcomes submissions from AACS members and their public relations firms. The magazine will be available free to all academy members and for sale to the general public.
