In September, Allergan plc received FDA approval for its Natrelle INSPIRA Cohesive breast implants for women undergoing reconstruction, augmentation or revision surgery.
This new breast-shaping option combines a high gel-fill ratio with Allergan’s highly cohesive gel, for a customized result.
The product line is the newest entry into the breast-implant category known as “gummy” implants, which are designed for increased breast fullness.
“We are most excited to be able to offer patients a new implant filled with a highly cohesive gel that is designed to hold its shape,” says Carrie Strom, vice president of marketing for Allergan U.S. Plastic Surgery. “The highly cohesive gel is a gummy-like consistency that tends to stick together.”
Strom tells Cosmetic Surgery Times that the Natrelle INSPIRA Cohesive breast implant is filled with more gel, “giving the silhouette a full look. It is specifically designed to provide fullness, especially at the top of the breasts.”

The new breast implant is available in either smooth or BIOCELL textured surfaces.
The implant is also automatically covered by the ConfidencePlus warranty, “as are all Natrelle breast implants,” Strom says.
The implant is the latest example of Allergan’s commitment to innovation in breast aesthetics and plastic surgery, according to the company.
Natrelle INSPIRA breast implants are approved for breast augmentation in women at least 22 years of age who are suitable for silicone-filled implants.
