While facial rejuvenation treatments continue trending toward minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, Aesthetics Biomedical® Inc. (ABM), based in Phoenix, Ariz., has announced a distribution and marketing partnership with Plasma Concepts® for the Plasma+ and PlasmaMDTM (formerly Genesis and Revelation MD, respectively). The innovative PlasmaMD is a revolutionary, energy-based plasma technology that elevates the portfolio of aesthetic practitioners and provides a complementary fit with ABM’s existing products, Vivace® Microneedle RF, SoME® Skincare and SENZA Laser Hair Removal.

The PlasmaMD is a compact, handheld device that effectively treats skin laxity and fine lines while improving texture and tone for full skin rejuvenation. The device is FDA Class ll cleared for soft tissue coagulation and lesion removal and is one of the only devices on the market that can safely treat the delicate tissues around the eyes and mouth.

A key differentiator is the proprietary ARC Energy Technology, which creates an energy reaction between the device and the skin’s surface, resulting in a uniquely natural lifting of the skin, while promoting the development of the patient’s own collagen and elastin. Consistent and long-lasting effects are what makes the PlasmaMD a standout treatment in aesthetic dermatology.

According to Michael Somenek, MD, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Somenek + PittmanMD, based in Washington, D.C., the PlasmaMD treatment is effective for a wide variety of demographics, espe- cially Fitzpatrick I-III skin types. “I use the PlasmaMD for several types of patients,” he noted. “There are those that are starting to develop skin texture changes and crepiness, but aren’t quite ready or appropriate for an eyelid surgery, who I think are excellent candidates for this treatment.”

Yael Halaas, MD, (New York, N.Y.), uses the device for a successful solution in areas that were historically considered difficult to treat. As she explained, “It has been particularly helpful for challenging perioral lines, or for tightening of the periorbital skin. It comple- ments and furthers the result of fractional CO2 laser treatment, or serves as a milder therapy than fractional CO2. Patients appreciate the effective, graduated approach.”

The PlasmaMD harnesses the power of ARC Energy Technology to target and rejuvenate skin in a variety of areas. Yvette Suarez, MD, owner/medical director of Bella MedSpa, located in Wesley Chapel, Fla., takes advantage of the skin lifting and resurfacing benefits. “We use the PlasmaMD for skin tightening, improvement of fine lines and a brow lift,” she explained. “Our patients have loved their outcomes, especially with the skin tightening and longevity of the results.”

In Dr. Somenek’s experience, PlasmaMD is an exciting and viable option for skin resur- facing, providing significant skin contraction and ongoing results with little downtime. “In as little as five days, people are back to their normal activities with results that continue to improve over time,” he reported. “It is an effective alternative to laser resurfacing if someone does not have the luxury of the prolonged downtime associated with ablative laser treatments.”

To combat the visible signs of aging, the PlasmaMD can help any aesthetic physician create a purposeful outcome for skin rejuvenation, as their patients enjoy continued improvement for several weeks to months. By incorporating their philosophy of the plasma perspective, ABM and Plasma Concepts are blazing a trail in plasma technology and the overall anti-aging industry.
